Nissan states the GT-R can reach a top speed of 193 mph (311 km/h), Motor Trend recorded a top speed of 195.0 mph (313.8 km/h). In tests the original production model was shown to be capable of achieving 0-60 mph (97 km/h) times as low as 2.7 seconds using "launch control.

" Owners expressed concern that duplicating the times achieved in these tests would void their factory warranty. Nissan's chief vehicle engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno has indicated that he has never used the term "launch control", which refers to the act of turning off vehicle dynamic control (VDC) and launching the car at around 4500 rpm.However, Nissan's director of product planning John Wiener stated in an interview with Jay Leno that "we (Nissan) actually offer a 'launch mode'". 

The GT-R user's manual states that turning off the VDC is only meant for escaping low-traction situations such as mud or snow. Nissan has re-programmed the 2010 model year GT-R to reduce the engine speed at launch to around 3,000-3,500 rpm with VDC enabled, which is meant to improve acceleration times. 

The new programming was also installed on old 2009 vehicles still in Nissan's inventory, and is available for existing 2009 vehicles.The updated GT-R now has a launch mode called "R-Mode Start". The system allows a maximum of 4 consecutive hard launches before locking itself out, after which it can be unlocked by driving normally for 1.5 miles. 

The increased engine output of later models combined with the "R-Mode Start" has lowered the 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time to 2.7 seconds.Motor Trend achieved a standing quarter-mile time of 11.6 s at 120.0 mph (193.1 km/h).Autocar achieved a 0-100 mph (160 km/h) time of 8.5 seconds.

The Pagani Huayra Italian pronunciation:is an Italian mid-engined sports car produced by Pagani. Succeeding the company's previous offering, the Zonda, it had a base price of €850,000. It is named after Huayra-tata, a Quechua wind god. The Huayra was named "The Hypercar of the Year 2012" by Top Gear magazine and received a very positive review when tested by Richard Hammond on Top Gear. The Huayra was previously the fastest road car to go around the Top Gear Test Track, setting a time of 1:13.8, beating the previous record of 1:15.1 set by the Ariel Atom V8 in January 2011, but was beaten by the McLaren 675LT in June 2016 that set a record of 1:13.7.

On February 11, 2015 it was reported that the Pagani Huayra has been sold out. The Huayra was limited to just 100 units as part of Pagani's agreement with engine supplier Mercedes-AMG.

The Huayra uses a twin-turbo, V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG specially for the Huayra. The Huayra's 6.0-litre engine, the M158, produces 730 PS (720 hp, 539 kW) and 811 lb·ft (1,100 N·m) of torque. Its top speed is about 238 mph (383 km/h) and it has a 0-60 acceleration time of 2.8 seconds. Using Pirelli tires, the Pagani Huayra is capable of withstanding 1.66 g of lateral acceleration at speeds of up to 230 mph (370 km/h).

The Pagani Huayra uses a seven-speed sequential gearbox and a single disc clutch. The choice not to use a dual-clutch in an oil bath was due to the increase in weight of over 70 kg (154 lb), thus negating any advantage of the faster gear changes in a double-clutch transmission. As a result, the entire transmission weighs 96 kg (212 lb).

The car is equipped with Brembo brake calipers, rotors and pads. The calipers have four pistons in front and four in the rear. The rotors are drilled carbon ceramic, 380 mm (15.0 in) in diameter and 34 mm (1.3 in) thick.

Mercedes-Benz's AMG division provides the engine of the Huayra which is hand-built. The 5,980 cc, twin-turbo, 60° AMG M158 V12, has been designed at the request of Pagani to reduce turbo lag and improve response, realized with smaller turbos, a different intercooler configuration and re-programmed ECU settings.

Like many high-performance cars, the Huayra uses dry sump lubrication. This has several key benefits including guaranteeing oil flow even when the car is subjected to extreme lateral acceleration, preventing "oil surge" which allows the engine to operate more efficiently while the lack of an oil pan allows mounting the engine lower, lowering the car's center of gravity and improving handling. The fuel consumption of the Huayra is 10 mpg (23 l/100 km) in city and 14 mpg (17 l/100 km) in highway (EPA testing).

A water / oil heat exchanger reduces engine warm-up times on cold days and helps maintain a stable temperature for refrigerants and lubricants.

To minimize the use of pipes and fittings (and the overall weight of the vehicle), the expansion tank is mounted directly on the engine. Intercooler fins act as an expansion tank circuit at low temperatures.

The titanium exhaust system was designed and built by MHG-Fahrzeugtechnik.Hydroformed joints were developed to reduce back pressure and ensure a free flow exhaust. Titanium reduces the weight of the exhaust system while the Inconel silencers improve reliability in the most exposed parts of the exhaust at high temperatures. The entire system weighs less than 10 kg (22 lb).

The Lamborghini Huracán (Spanish for "hurricane") is a sports car built by Lamborghini, replacing Lamborghini's sales leader and most produced car, the Gallardo. The Huracán made its auto show debut at the March 2014 Geneva Auto Show, and was released in the second quarter of 2014. The name of the Huracan LP 610-4 comes from the fact that this car has 610 horsepower and 4 wheel drive. The Huracán was named "The Supercar of the Year 2014" by car magazine Top Gear.

The Huracán's name (huracán being the Spanish word for hurricane) is inspired by a Spanish fighting bull, similar to various other Lamborghini car models. Huracán was a bull known for its courage that fought in 1879. Also Huracan is the Mayan god of wind, storm and fire.

Engine

The Huracán maintains the 5.2 L naturally aspirated Audi/Lamborghini V10 engine from the Gallardo, tuned for 610 PS (449 kW; 602 hp). To ensure its balance and performance, the car is mid-engined. The V10 has both direct fuel injection and multi-point fuel injection. It combines the benefits of both of these systems; it is the first time this combination is used in a V10. To increase its efficiency the Huracán's engine also includes a start-stop system.

With a dry weight of 1,422 kg (3,135 lb), the Huracán has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.36 kg (5.20 lb) per horsepower.

The Huracán has electronically controlled all-wheel drive, which aims to increase the traction on various surfaces and the overall performance of the car. The car has a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, Lamborghini's new 'Doppia Frizione' (Dual Clutch) gearbox. The transmission performs differently depending on the mode the driver has selected.The Huracán will only be available with an automatic transmission; a manual will not be offered.

The Huracán also has a magnetically controlled suspension system. It utilises magnetorheological dampers to very quickly change how the suspension acts, ensuring performance as well as usability.

The Huracan has various components in common with the next generation Audi R8. This is due to both of the cars' utilization of Volkswagen Group sportscar technology.

The Huracán features various interior options for more comfort inside the car. It features a choice for full electric control and heating of the sport seats in addition to the standard lengthwise alignment and electric backrest. The car also has an optional navigation system and leather upholstering.The Huracán is one of the first sports cars moving infotainment out of the center stack: Lamborghini Infotainment System. The result: a display that lets the driver decide what they want to see. It is the first vehicle to use the 12.3 inch TFT virtual cockpi from parent company Audi,which is available with high-definition (1440 x 540) 3D computer graphics, Bluetooth, Google Earth GPS navigation and Multi Media Interface-like menu and dashboard controls, all powered by NvidiaTegra 3.

Various aspects of the Huracán are technologically advanced. The car has full LED headlamps, which ensures higher contrast in night conditions. Also, the Huracán has optional "Lamborghini Dynamic Steering" (LDS) to add to the standard power steering. The Dynamic Steering changes the steering performance from normal, comfortable steering to a racing feeling. The main control for changing the car's performance according to driving conditions is the mode selector ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligent Management). ANIMA controls the engine, the transmission, LDS, the all-wheel drive, magnetorheological suspension, and the electronic stability control. The Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI) carries out precise measurements of the vehicle movements using on board sensors (3 accelerometers and 3 gyroscopes) linked to ANIMA via high-speed FlexRay CAN bus. The driver can select street, sport, or race mode to alter how systems like the engine or transmission respond while driving. Depending on what mode is selected, even engine sound is different.

The Huracán's chassis is assembled by Lamborghini's parent company Audi in Neckarsulm, Germany. It is transported to the Lamborghini headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, where the final assembly occurs.

Within the first month of the Huracán LP 610-4 preview period, 700 orders of the vehicle were obtained. Before the official launch, Lamborghini registered more than 1,000 orders of the Huracán LP 610-4.

BUGATTI CHIRON

 The Bugatti Chiron is a mid-engined, two-seated sports car, designed by Achim Anscheidt and developed by the Bugatti automotive group (which is owned by the Volkswagen Group) as the successor to the Bugatti Veyron. The Chiron was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1, 2016.

The car is named in honor of the Monegasque driver Louis Chiron.The main carryover piece will be the 8 litre W16 quad-turbocharged engine, though it is heavily updated. The Chiron has 1,103 kW (1,500 PS; 1,479 bhp) of power and 1,600 N·m (1,180 lb·ft) of torque starting from 2000 rpm. Like its predecessor, the Veyron, it has a carbon fibre body structure, independent suspension and AWD system. The carbon fibre body has a stiffness of 50,000 Nm per degree.

The Chiron will accelerate from 0–100 km/h (60 mph) in under 2.5 seconds according to the manufacturer, 0–200 km/h (120 mph) in under 6.5 seconds and 0–300 km/h (190 mph) in under 13.6 seconds. The Chiron's top speed is electronically limited to 420 km/h (260 mph) for safety reasons. The anticipated full top speed of the Bugatti Chiron is believed to be around 463 km/h (288 mph). Its predecessor (the Bugatti Veyron SS) makes almost 220 kW (300 bhp) less than the new Chiron, and although the Chiron's speed limiter is set to 420 km/h (260 mph), the speedometer reads to 500 km/h (310 mph).The Chiron was an instant success when it was released. It sold 200 units before the first delivery of the car. With a base price of €2,400,000 ($2,500,000), it is also expected to place a €200,000 ($210,000) deposit on the car before retrieving it.
